Even though "Into Oblivion" was just released in North America, the latest from Belgium's Rise and Fall is already a given for my Top 10 of 2006. From the blazing opening track "forked tongues" to the more experimental closer "ruins", this album is relentless with it's crushing mix of metal, hardcore and doom laden sounds. Savage riffs and crushing breakdowns backed by Bjorn's hellish vocals make me want to punch holes in walls and tear the faces off door-to-door bible thumpers. If you're looking for comparisons think Integrity & Ringworm, with the dark underpinings of bands like His Hero is Gone, Cursed and Entombed. It's dark, it's evil and I can't recommend it enough.

The "pre-order" package that I received from Deathwish, included the album and a limited shirt with artwork courtesty of Jacob Bannon. I love this shirt. The horn endowed skull reaching out with long creepy hands to grab you by throat and choke the life out of you is fittingly evil and sums up this band in a nutshell.
This shirt was only available with the preorder but they have a couple other designs available that are just as good, especially the Archangel. Check them out.
