Thanks to Geoff at Hit the Deck Records for bringing Northern California's Ceremony to my attention. I've only heard two songs, but it was enough to convince me to plunk down some cash for the pre-order of their upcoming lp 'Violence, Violence' being released by Malfunction Records. Short, fast, no holds barred, Ceremony lay it down nice and ugly like late greats Infest and Shark Attack. I can't wait to hear the full length and get the full dose.

One of the pre-order packages includes a shirt featuring a skull crest done by Linas Garsys. Linas does skulls and other creepy shit real well, and has done work for American Nightmare, The Hope Conspiracy, The Nerve Agents, and a slew of others. For a band that sounds as pissed off as Ceremony I expected something a little more stark and violent, like a fist punching a hole through someone's head. But it's good to go against the grain sometimes. The elements of the crest all tie together to create a design that instills a sense of warning or foreboding of the ass kicking your about to receive.
If you're down with Ceremony, and down with Linas's artwork, be sure to grab a shirt along with the album.
