Ink And Dagger – “Eyes” shirt

Six Feet Under is re-issuing Ink and Dagger's debut 7" "Love is Dead", originally released by Happy Day Records many moons ago. Along with pre-orders for the 7", SFU is also selling this "Eyes" shirt.

A couple Ink & Dagger related stories. Back in '96, Ink and Dagger played the first Winnipeg Hardcore Fest. Back then it was pretty rare for American hardcore bands to tour through the prairies, and the fest had a pretty decent line-up of US bands: Disembodied, Harvest, Prema, Ink & Dagger.

I was at the fest minding the merch table for a band I was touring with. From across the hall comes an angry, booming voice: "Where's Al Eisenbart? Is Al Eisenbart here?" A little nervous, I walk across the hall to be confronted by a very pissed off, and slightly intimidating Dave Wagenschutz. "Is there a show for Ink and Dagger in Calgary or not?" he growled. I politely replied that I had no idea whether there was a show set-up, as I had told the person that asked me about putting one on that I would be out of town for two months and unable to do it.

At that point one of the dudes from Republic of Freedom Fighters sauntered over, opened his big mouth and said something to the effect that Dave thought he was so cool cause he played in Lifetime. Dave wasn't impressed, and there was a heated exchange between the two of them. Luckily things simmered down without anyone getting hurt, and Ink & Dagger ended up playing show in Calgary.

On that same tour we had the pleasure of spending the night at Sean McCabe's place in Philadelphia. I have to thank him for 1) introducing me to Low, and 2) waking me up early in the morning while screaming at the top of his lungs at the girls going to the Catholic School across the street. RIP Sean.
