The Great Deceiver, featuring legendary vocalist Tomas Lindberg (At the Gates, Disfear, Skitsystem, etc.), recently signed on to Deathwish Inc who will be releasing their next album Life is Wasted on the Living in October. There is a pre-order package available at Deathwish that includes the cd and a shirt featuring a Jacob Bannon designed skull with wings, taken from the cover art.

I really enjoyed the first Great Deceiver ep Jet Black Art. It was a breath of fresh air at the time, and it’s always great to hear Tomas shredding his vocal chords. But the two follow-up albums A Venom Well Designed and Terra Incognito really didn’t do anything for me and I kind of lost interest in what they were doing. But Deathwish has great taste in bands, and the advance track off Life is Wasted on the Living sounds pretty damn good. Way more up tempo and driving than I remember their previous work. Here’s hoping the new one kicks our asses when it drops.
