Unholy ‘blood of the medusa’ pre-order

I was pretty stoked on Unholy's first release, the 'Awaken the Sleep' ep. These Syracuse heavyweights managed to write one of the more memorable metal(core) records of late, one that kept my head banging from the first through last song. While by no means slouches with their musical abilities, they keep it lean and mean, and avoid the unnecessary guitar wankery that bogs down so many metal(core) records. Their self-description pretty much sums it up: "influenced by thrash metal greats such as Carcass, Entombed, Slayer, Testament, The Haunted, and Metallica, and interspersed with rock touches reminiscent of Black Sabbath, Corrosion of Conformity, and Down." Given their past and present band history there is also a definite hardcore influence there, albeit a darker, gloomier one. Add in a healthy does of Lovecraftian inspired lyrics and consider me sold.
They are about to release their first full-length 'Blood of the Medusa'. Visit their myspace page to hear a new track, then head over to Lambgoat and hook yourself up with a pre-order package that includes a shirt featuring their logo on the front and a gnarly looking demon priest dude on the back.
