United Nations are a not-so secret anymore supergroup, featuring members of Glassjaw, Thursday, and Converge. Their sound is reminiscent of the glory days of mid-90’s screamo, before it fell flat on its face, and brings back fond memories of the Gravity roster and bands like Portraits of Past. Their self-titled album is out next week on Eyeball Records, but you can listen to some tracks on the United Nations MySpace.

When I was a wee young lad, my parents made the mistake of letting me watch American Werewolf in London. It scared the living shit out of me! I remember begging them, to no avail, to let me sleep in their bed that night. Over 20 years later and it’s still one of my favorite horror movies, and I’m guessing the guys in I Rise enjoy it as well as they’ve used the iconic image of the werewolf on this new shirt.
